Day
1 - Arrive Milan
You are met at Milan's Malpensa airport and transferred to your
hotel. Later, we enjoy an orientation tour including the gothic
Duomo, the 19th century Galleria and "La Scala" Opera
house. Tonight, after a welcome drink with your Tour Director, why
not dine at an elegant Milanese restaurant?

Day
2 - Milan – Italian Lake District – Lake Garda (6 nights)
Today we head to the Italian Lakes. Our first stop is at Stresa,
where we can see the idyllic Borromean Islands. Time to relax or
take a boat trip before a short ferry ride across Lake Maggiore to
Laveno. We enter Switzerland briefly on a visit to Lugano. Time to
shop for Swiss chocolates and watches. Later, back in Italy enjoy a
scenic drive around Lake Como to Como itself. At Bergamo, we join
the 'autostrada' to Lake Garda for six nights. (Buffet Breakfast /
Dinner)

Day
3 - Lake Garda – Vicenza – Bassano del Grappa
First we're off to the ancient Roman town of Vicenza. Here we will
visit the Piazza dei Signori and the Corso Andrea Palladio. Next,
via Castelfranco Veneto to Bassano del Grappa, famous for its white
brandy, and covered bridge over the Brenta River. Later, we make a
stop in nearby Possagno to visit the Temple of Canova. Finally we
make our way back to Lake Garda where dinner is at our hotel this
evening. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day
4 - Lake Garda – Venice Excursion
An early start today as we drive to magical Venice. On our arrival a
private motor launch will take us along the canals past Palladian
palazzos and churches, to St. Mark's Square. Here we'll see St.
Mark's Basilica and Doges' Palace. Then after witnessing a
demonstration of Murano glass-blowing, enjoy time on your own. Why
not venture out to the lagoon and enjoy a delicious seafood lunch?
Later, a gondola ride would be hard to resist! (Buffet Breakfast /
Dinner)

Day
5 - Lake Garda at leisure
After breakfast enjoy a full day at leisure to perhaps stroll along
the lakeside, take an excursion to nearby Mantova visiting the
magnificent Palazzo Ducale or simply relax. (Buffet Breakfast /
Dinner)

Day
6 - Lake Garda – Sirmione & Verona Excursion
Today we experience the beauty of Lake Garda on an included
excursion along its shores to Sirmione. Here we can admire the
imposing Scaligers' castle before continuing to romantic Verona, for
a guided tour of the city, home of Shakespeare's star-crossed
lovers. We will see the Roman arena and Juliet's balcony. Then free
time to shop, or simply "do as the locals do" and sit in
one of the pavement cafés on the Piazza Bra. We return to Lake
Garda for the night where dinner is at our hotel. (Buffet Breakfast
/ Dinner)

Day
7 - Lake Garda at leisure
Another full day at leisure in this serene area. Perhaps take a boat
trip across the lake. Or join a full day excursion into the Dolomite
Mountains where you can ride a cable car up one of the mountain
peaks for spectacular alpine views. Alternatively, you may wish to
relax in these peaceful surroundings! Whatever you decide, your Tour
Director can advise you on how to make the most of your stay! We
dine at our hotel this evening. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day
8 - Lake Garda – Bergamo – Milan
After breakfast, we visit the attractive town of Bergamo. Here we
ascend to the upper traffic-free town by funicular to see the town's
finest buildings. Then we walk to the Piazza del Duomo to admire the
15th and 16th century buildings, with time for a cappuccino before
returning to Milan. This evening, why not join your Tour Director
and fellow passengers for a final dinner in one of the city's
excellent restaurants? (Buffet Breakfast)

9 - Depart Milan
After breakfast time to bid farewell to your new-found friends as we
arrange your transfer back to Milan Malpensa airport for your return

Airport
Transfers
- London Gateways:
Transfers can be expensive, particularly between the Airport and
central London. When you book your tour with Trafalgar your
transfers to and from the airport are included. It's that
simple. Trafalgar has included a Free transfer to and from your
airport and Central London.
- Important – Please Note: Passengers
will only be entitled to transfers to and from London Airports
providing the following conditions are met:
- You are staying at a London hotel,
booked by Trafalgar, on the night of your arrival and the night
prior to the date of your departure.
- Flights are either booked by
Trafalgar or detailed information on flights is provided by your
Travel Agent not less than 21 days prior to departure.
- Only one included transfer both
inbound and outbound per tour is included by Trafalgar.
Transfers are by express train to a Central London Rail Station.
- Heathrow Express operates between
05.10-23.30. Gatwick Express operates inbound services between
05.20-23.45 and outbound services from 04.30-23.45. Transfers
outside of these times are at the passengers own expense.
- In the event of unforeseen events
(road or rail works, demonstrations, strikes) Trafalgar will not
be held responsible for delayed or cancelled transfers.
- No refund is available for
passengers not utilising this service.

- European Gateways: With

A private launch takes us to the world-renowned islands of Lake
Maggiore. We see the Isola Madre, the Isola dei Pescatori, and on
the Isola Bella we visit the palace of the Borromean princes.

This excursion will take us along the beautiful Adige valley
northward to the bilingual town of Bolzano, capital of southern part
of the Tyrol. Here we will have time to shop in the elegant arcaded
streets. Later, we take a cable car to the top of the Renon and then
continue on a ride on the century old "Tramvai" a unique
form of communication for all the villages in this area. We will
enjoy incredible panoramas from this famous mountain plateau,
including a view over the ever-present Marmolada glacier. Finally a
spectacular drive past hills and mountains terraced with vineyards
brings us back to our hotel on Lake Garda.

An excursion, which takes us to visit the monument, considered to be
the pinnacle of artistic expression in Lombardy and one of Italy's
greatest landmarks, the Carthusian Monastery of Pavia. Here we will

fourteenth century cloisters and the cells where the Carthusian
