Day 01: Singapore - Delhi
Meet and transfer to hotel. Rest of the
day. |
Day 02: Delhi - Agra (Breakfast)
After breakfast, half day tour of New Delhi.
New Delhi: India's
capital and an important gateway into the country, New
Delhi is a bustling metropolis and interesting mix of
fast paced modernization and carefully preserved
antiquity. Visit Lutyen's Delhi-drive past President's
Palace and also known as Rastrapati Bhawan, India
gate, a World War I memorial. Lutyen's city is characterized
by wide, tree-lined avenues, parks and palaces built
for important Indian princes.
Visit Humayuns Tomb, built in the mid-16th century by
Haji Begum, the Persian born senior wife of Humayaun,
the second Mughal emperor, this is wonderful early
example of Mughal architecture. Later, drive to Agra
(Approx 4hrs). Check-in to hotel. |
Day 03: Agra - Fatehpur Sikri - Jaipur (Breakfast)
Early morning after breakfast, visit Taj Mahal.
Taj Mahal - described
as the most extravagent monument ever built for love,
this poigant Mughal mausolem has become the de facto
tourist emblem of India. It was constructed by emperor
Shah Jahan in memory of his second wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
Described by the Indian classical poet Tagore as a
"tear on the face of eternity", the Taj
Mahal is undoubtedly the zenith of Moghul architecture.
Visit Agra Fort -
Constructed of the massive red sandstone Agra Fort on
the bank of River Yamuna, was begun by emperor Akbar
in 1565. In Akbar's time, the fort was principally a
military structure, but during Shah Jahan's reign, it
has partially become a palace. The auricular fort's
colossal double walls rises over 20m in height and
measures 2.5km in circumference.
Drive to Jaipur (Approx 5-6hrs) and visit
enroute Fatehpur Sikri:
Once the capital city of Akbar after the childless
Mughal was blessed with a son with the blessing of the
Sufi Saint, Sheikh Salim Chisti, who had lived here.
Through the juxtaposition of the building seems whimsical,
they are thoughtfully planned, imparting and
atmosphere of playful brilliance. Towering walls on
three sides surround the rectangular-shaped city, accessible
through nine gates and an artificial lake is located
on the west. It is a perfect example of a Mughal city
at the height of the empire's splendor. Arrive Jaipur
and check-in to hotel and rest of the day. |
Day 04: Agra - Jaipur (Breakfast)
After breakfast, visit Amber Fort built in 17th
century; the palace is a distinguished specimen of
Rajput's architecture. Take a joyride on an elephant
back at Amber Fort. Set in a picturesque location,
Amber is fascinating blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture.
Built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh, it
sprawls on the hillside. Built in red sandstone and
white marble, the palace complex has some
interesting apartments, the likes of which are not
to be found anywhere else in the country.
Thereafter, explore the city starting from Pink City
Palace which is now houses a museum containing rare
manuscripts, paintings and an armory; Visit the
palace of Winds-a-Landmark of Jaipur made of pink
sandstone and of unique design. Also visit Jantar
Mantar-Observatory. (Astronomical Instrument)
Evening is free at leisure. Overnight in hotel. |
Day 05:
Jaipur

Delhi (Breakfast)
Have a early breakfast and drive back to Delhi (Approx
5hrs). Arrive Delhi and check-in hotel. Rest of
the day is free at leisure. Overnight in hotel. |
Day 06:
Delhi - Chandigarh - Shimla (Breakfast)
After breakfast, on time transfer to the airport
for flight to Chandigarh. Meet and drive straight to
Shimla (Approx 3hrs).
Evening free to walk around the mall. Shimla: The
capital of Himachal Pradesh and former summer
capital of British India. Shimla is the state's most
important centre. Bulging at its seams with
precedent
expansion, Shimla retains a colonial aura, with its
grand old buildings, among them the stately
Viceregal Lodge, charming iron lampposts and
Anglo-Saxon names. The mall, packed with shops and
eateries, is the centre of attraction, and the
Scandal Point, associated with the former Mharaja of
Patiala's escapades, offers a view of distant
snow-clad peaks.

Day 07: Shimla (Breakfast)
After breakfast, relax at the hotel or
indulgence in various spa and massage packages hotel has
(optional cost). Return to Shimla city and evening free
at leisure. |
Day 08:
Shimla - Chandigarh - Singapore (Breakfast)
Have a early breakfast, drive to Chandigarh
(Approx
3hrs). Transfer
to the airport for flight to Delhi. Evening on time,
transfer to international airport for flight to Singapore. |
