We will start
trekking along the high ridge to west of the valley, passing through Sherpa
and Tamang villages, until we cross the Laurebina pass (15, 121 ft). We then
descend to the Gosaikunda Lake which is sacred to both the Hindu and Tibetan
Buddhists. We will descend further into the Langtang National Park, the home
of snow leopard, Himalayan thar, re panda and musk deer. The valley is
dominated by the 7246m Langtang Lirung to the north, Gang Chhenpo (6338m) to
the south and Dorjee Lakpha (6975m) to the east. As the trek nears the end
at Dhunche, we pass through rice fields, rhododendron and pine forests,
where we will find numerous birds. |
