DAY 1 - ARRIVE BOSTON

On arrival in the historic city of Boston, a complimentary transfer from Boston Logan Airport to the tour hotel is provided. Your Tour Director will be available at the hotel in the afternoon to greet you and answer any questions.
Hotel: Omni Parker House.

DAY 2 - BOSTON - PITTSFIELD

Boston is one of America's oldest and most historic cities, and your Tour Director brings it all to life on the city's famed Freedom Trail. See Beacon Hill, Newbury Street, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Bunker Hill Pavilion and the meeting house where the Boston Tea Party was planned. Then sit back and enjoy the colourful scenery as you travel west to Stockbridge for a visit to the Norman Rockwell Museum, housing the world's largest and most significant collection of original Rockwell art. In the evening, enjoy a Welcome Drink and dinner with your Tour Director at your hotel in the beautiful hills. Hotel: Crowne Plaza Berkshires. (Full Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 3 - PITTSFIELD - STOWE

Leave Massachusetts and journey through the fabulous fall foliage of the 'Green Mountains State' of Vermont. Learn all about cheese-making and taste the famous Grafton Village Cheddar Cheese, before stopping at the impressive Quechee Gorge. Visit the renowned Billings Farm & Museum, a working dairy farm and farm life museum, before a stroll through the quaint village of Woodstock with its famous covered bridge. Stay in Stowe for the next two nights. It was this alpine setting that attracted the Von Trapp family when they arrived from Austria in the late 40's and built their fabulous hideaway. Hotel: Trapp Family Lodge. (Full Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 4 - GREEN MOUNTAINS EXCURSION

Enjoy beautiful rural scenery this morning, including covered bridges and views of Vermont's tallest peak, Mount Mansfield. Visit Cold Hollow Apple Cider Mill, to taste fresh cider in the making, then sample flavours of a different kind on your tour of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory. Return to the charming town of Stowe where the remainder of the day is free to enjoy the amenities of the resort including an elegant afternoon tea. (Full Breakfast)

DAY 5 - STOWE - NORTH CONWAY

At Montpelier, a visit to the Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks, allows you to sample maple sugar and get to taste a Vermont tradition: 'sugar on snow', served with a donut and pickle! Now head for New Hampshire's White Mountains and enter Franconia Notch. Get your cameras at the ready as you ride the spectacular Cannon Mountain aerial tramway for panoramic vistas over New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Canada and New York. Then continue to your hotel via the crimson and orange hues of the Kancamagus Scenic Byway. Hotel: North Conway Grand Hotel. (Full Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 6 - WHITE MOUNTAINS EXCURSION

Another scenic day takes you through Crawford Notch to view the beautiful Silver Cascade Waterfall. Enjoy stunning views of Mount Washington, the tallest peak in the northeast at 6,288 feet and also stop in quaint alpine villages. Now it's back through the beautiful White Mountains to your hotel where this evening is at leisure. Perhaps enjoy some tax-free shopping at the elegant outlet stores nearby the hotel. (Full Breakfast)

DAY 7 - NORTH CONWAY - PORTSMOUTH

Relax as the pine forests of western Maine give way to the rugged Maine Coast. Continue south past the 'Forest City' of Portland to stroll the narrow streets of Kennebunkport, along the rocky coast of Ocean Drive. Admire the amazing views and look for lobster boats in the distance as you head for the quaint village of Portsmouth. Time here to browse the many galleries and shops, or walk along the river-front. Tonight bid farewell to your fellow travellers and enjoy a traditional 'lobsta bake', a Maine tradition, in the nearby seaside village of York. Hotel: Sheraton Harborside. (Full Breakfast, Highlight Dinner)

DAY 8 - PORTSMOUTH - BOSTON DEPARTURE

After a leisurely breakfast and some free time in the village, a short scenic drive brings you back to Boston, where your tour ends upon arrival at Boston Logan Airport.
