Tour Pace

This leisurely yet comprehensive tour takes in the major highlights of Western Canada, featuring two-night stays in Waterton Lakes, Banff, Jasper and Victoria. Two days aboard the Rocky Mountaineer's GoldLeaf Service train add to the unforgettable experience.

DAY 1 - ARRIVE CALGARY

Start your trip with a complimentary transfer between the airport and hotel. Your Tour Director will meet you at the hotel in the afternoon. Hotel: Calgary Marriott.

DAY 2 - CALGARY - WATERTON LAKES N.P.

Begin the day with an orientation tour of Calgary before heading south. At the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, discover how the Blackfoot people hunted great buffalo herds. Visit Fort Mcleod and learn about the North West Mounted Police, the precursor of the present Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Arrive at Waterton Lakes National Park, the hidden jewel of the Canadian Rockies. Hotel: Waterton Lakes Lodge.

DAY 3 - WATERTON SIGHTSEEING

Keep an eye out for wildlife as you explore Red Rock Canyon. At the foot of towering mountains, join a delightful cruise on Waterton Lake, the deepest in the Canadian Rockies. Weather permitting, why not join an optional excursion to Montana's Glacier National Park?

DAY 4 - WATERTON - FAIRMONT HOT SPRINGS

Visit the Interpretive Center explaining how in 1903, Turtle Mountain collapsed, burying the mining town of Frank. Cross the Continental Divide and journey back to the gold rush days at Fort Steele Heritage Town. On arrival in Fairmont Hot Springs, take some time to soak in the hotel's natural hot springs! DAY 5 - FAIRMONT HOT SPRINGS - BANFF

Visit Kootenay National Park before entering Banff National Park. Stroll along Lake Louise, Victoria Glacier and the famous chateau. Weather permitting, stop at Moraine Lake, surrounded by 10 soaring peaks. View Bow Falls and the Hoodoos, before arriving at your hotel. Hotel: Fairmont Banff Springs. (Full Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 6 - BANFF AT LEISURE

A full day is reserved to enjoy this paradise at your own pace. Enjoy a trip down the Bow River, play a round of golf, or relax at the hotel's award-winning Willow Stream Spa.

DAY 7 - BANFF - JASPER NATIONAL PARK

Following the backbone of the Canadian Rockies, the Icefields Parkway is one of the world's most spectacular scenic drives, winding between snow-clad peaks, cascading waterfalls and immense glaciers. Then step aboard a specially designed Ice Explorer and venture onto Athabasca Glacier, before continuing over Sunwapta Pass to Jasper National Park. Hotel: Sawridge Inn.

DAY 8 - JASPER AT LEISURE

DAY 9 - JASPER - ROCKY MOUNTAINEER

Step aboard Rocky Mountaineer's GoldLeaf Service for two days of glorious rail travel through Canada's West. Enjoy panoramic views from your seat in the GoldLeaf dome car and fine meals in the GoldLeaf dining room. Highlights include Yellowhead Pass, Moose Lake and Mount Robson. DAY 10 - ROCKY MOUNTAINEER - WHISTLER
